This species is characteristic and endemic
for the mountains of Romania and western Balkans, especially for the
boreal and nemoral belts. One of the main characters which separates
it from the subspecies of A. napellus in our
flora is the glandulose-hairy inflorescence which is clearly visible in
the photographs below.
